he last earth sign of the zodiac, Capricorn is represented by the sea-goat, a mythical body with the body of a goat and the tail of a fish! thought I'd represent with photos I have. Capricorn has a very special meaning in my life, as it was the name of the first dolphin I ever got to swim with! I shared a very strong connection with him and out of all the dolphins, he was always there for my interactions; Which included swims with my husband who actually is a Capricorn himself! I then got to work at Discovery Cove as a photographer and he was there swimming beside me, making every shift amazing! He is over 50 years old so you will notice he only has three teeth left! He has been retired, but he loves interactions and choses to come out, esp to help those with disabilities.
To tie more into the Capricorn being a Great Horned Goat with a Fish Tail, I included photos of a School of Fish so you can chose your favorite fish tail and The only Great horned goat I have close to it is a Jacobs Sheep! They are small, horned, black and white sheep with a somewhat goat-like appearance. Most striking to many people are four-horned rams with two vertical center horns as much as two feet long, and two side horns curling down along the side of the head. Two-horned rams develop the more familiar classic double curl. Horns on the ewe are always shorter and more delicate than the rams' horns!
Despite the name “aqua” in its name, Aquarius is the last air sign of the zodiac (Jan 20th-Feb 18th) is represented by the water bearer. Well I really don't have a photo of that, HOWEVER, when we were snorkeling we found reefs made of clay pots/jugs that the fish were enjoying. So thought good attempt in representation of it!
January's Bird of the Month is the OWL, along with Jan 5th being the National Bird Day, and Jan 10th is Save the Eagles Day! Photos feature a Great Horned Owl and American Bald Eagle, which do you notice this eagle is not quite an adult! I love how you can see the dark feathers starting to fade and the great white head feathers coming in soon! Great for painting some incredible depth! The photos were captured at the Audubon Birds of Prey Sanctuary!
